Hello,

I've updated my Web Sharpener Script for Photoshop to version 0.8. You will need Photoshop CS2 or higher to run it.

New features ...
*) Improved downscaling algorithm that uses more than 2 steps now and considers the image size. If you liked the previous algorith, you can select this option as well.
*) Better edge masking to prevent halos more efficiently.
*) Some bug fixes.

Here's the link ... [link]

The ZIP-files includes both a German and an English version of the script plus the documentation in PDF-format.

As there are quite a few medium format and large format shooters here - the new script works significantly better with larger images now.

AUTO-RUN VERSION
By request I also created a version that runs without dialog so that you can use it to run in a batch. Here's what you have to do ...

*) The script is included in the "English" folder of the ZIP-file.</b>
*) Open the script in a text editor.
*) There's a section at the beginning of the script called "EDIT THESE SETTINGS FOR THE AUTO-RUN". Edit the settings there to your liking.
*) After that, save the file with it's original name or better with a descriptive name like "WebSharpener V0.8 850px NoSaturation Opacity45.jsx" which can reflect some settings that you changed in the script.
*) In that way you can create several script files with different setting.
*) To be able to include the script in the batch automation you have to create an action for it. So go ahead and open some dummy image. Create a new action and label it to your liking. Now go to "File->Scripts->Browse..." and navigate to your own saved version of the script and run it. After that stop the recording of the action, close the dummy image and you're ready to use it a future batch processes.

Cheers,
Andreas
