The wonderful view back into the Val di Fiscalina just a few minutes before sunset.
I reworked this one from scratch as I only had a B/W version of it so far and felt the colors deserve another try.

I like it a lot, although I am a bit amazed by the amount of grey in it. Was it like that? The rock almost looks like it is covered with a layer of dust. :-)

Hmm ... well the base is full of gravel as there are always rocks falling down from this rockface. But rocks in the Alps are mostly gray - you never need a graycard :)

Maybe it just had to do with the light condition on that day. I think on the other image you published of that day, you said that the light was diffuse. Or maybe because of the wide open aperture you chose, not all the parts of the image are equally sharp. All I wanted to say, it looked amazing, but in some way surreal to me.

I am quite familiar with the mountains in the northern part of the Alps. I grew up in the Allgäu and went to the mountains a lot with my dad. :-)

The light conditions changed over time. In the afternoon the light was a little more diffuse because of the additional haze in the air. Later the haze was gone and the light looked more fresh.
