I love the color and the composition, but the rocks look weird, almost like there was too much post processing sharpening applied. It destroys all eye movement in the piece.

Could be that the sharpening looks too strong on the rocks ... web display always is a compromise.

did you sharpen the full size and then scale down for web or scale down and then sharpen? For web display it seems to work better to do the latter.

I've updated the image. Less sharpening in the high contrast areas now.
I use a sharpening that action that I've refined over the years. It's working in the lab color space and takes into account edges.

I'm just refining my sharpening actions, because I found an error in there. Thanks for pointing that out. Will upload the new version of this image later.

Oh, so beautiful! Is the photo edited later or were the colours originally these?

They were about as intense as you see them here. On location it felt quite surreal.

We are lucky to live rather close to that awesome place. This winter I will visit your lovely Plitvice Lakes. I bet you've been there a million times.

Yes we are lucky, you a little bit more (I see that you are in Alps all the time :-) )
I've been to Plitvice a couple of times, but never in winter, this year I hope I will :-)
The frozen falls are just incredible.

I love those potholes with the clear turquoise water, and how the movement of the water shows. I have seen quite a few potholes myself.
